BROMPTON ANNOUNCE FORMAT FOR INVITATIONAL RACE

Brompton has announced the format for its 48 invitational raceset to begin on Thrusday June 14 at the P&P World Cycling Revivial. The competition will see 48 invited riders take part in the race which will have two elimination style heats.

The 24 riders that make it past the heats will then battle in the final race for a prize of over £10,000. Former pro cyclist David Millar will join the 48 riders as each rider competes on the Millar CHPT3 Brompton bike. The special edition bike was designed in collaboration with Brompton, featuring the edition colours, ergon grips, titanium componentry, special edition Kojak Schwalba Tan-wall tyre and a Brooks saddle.

About Tour De France 2017

With most pro cyclists being busy in training, the news of Froome’s recent collision has triggered much concern about the safety of bikers practicing on open roads.


Most have advised caution as well as sparked memories of the recent deaths that have occurred to pro and amateur cyclists recently. This might be troubles of the sport where avoiding the open roads can be unavoidable and leaves cyclists at the mercy of the drivers of cars and buses. However, the social media has now become channels through awareness is being sought by people driving who need to be respectful of cyclists and bikers so that such collisions and crashes can be avoided as much as possible.

There is much being anticipated as Tour de France 2017 comes round the corner, to begin on 1st July 2017. NICOLE COOKE FIRES QUESTIONS AT TEAM SKY, CRITIQUES BRITISH CYCLING

Nicole Cooke, former world and Olympic champion made her skepticism of the declaration by Team Sky’s that it was the cleanest team in cycling known as she went on to ask some pertinent questions concerning British Cycling, Team Sky and Bradley Wiggins.


Cooke made mention of back in 2011 when a mystery package was transported to Wiggins, and his use of his therapeutic use exemptions (TUEs) as well, saying that she felt uneasy about the whole arrangement.

Cooke said: “Taking TUEs just before major events, it raises questions for me. It makes me skeptical of what they have done.”

She was referring to the use of a powerful corticosteroid by Wiggins before the Tours de France in 2011 and 2012, and the 2013 edition of the Girod’Italia.

She also fired some shots at Principal Dave Brailsford who claimed not to know what his riders were treated with.

MILLAR ENDS HIS CAREER AT A LOCAL RIDE

Ever since sportsman David Millar turned professional back in 1997, a lot has changed in the world of cycling, and it is not just him either.


Millar had arrived the cycling scene as a 20-year-old talented sportsman which so much promise and after 17 tough years of challenging times and extraordinary victories, he prepares to make his exit as an accomplished professional.

Millar has been through quite a substantial number of ups, down in his career, and has come out to say that riding may not just be a part of his identity anymore.

Ian Bibby Triumphs At Chorley GP

Ian Bibby from NFTO Pro has reportedly emerged as the winner in the first round of Chorley GP and impressed everybody with a thrilling performance at the last few kilometers of the race.

The NFTO rider, who stays quite close to the Preston race track, crossed the finishing line all alone after he & his team-mate Dunbar (Eddie) attacked in the last few miles.

Both of them were part of this eighteen-rider break that went pretty clear on Rivington climb while they tacked 3rd of 5 laps yet it was not till the last climb of the same hill when that decisive move surfaced.

18-year-old Irish Dunbar came up with a  tough attack & flew up to the hill, afar from leading break & leaving just Bibby & Raleigh-GAC rider Steve Lampier in touch.

David Millar’s Book To Come Out This Year

The 38 years old David Millar, who used to be a professional cyclist is at present writing a book. Millar became 38 years old in January this year. No rider other than David Millar, has been able to become the winner of all the jerseys of Tour de France.

David Millar is the first British cyclist to become the winner of leader’s jersey in the three Grand Tours. David Millar used to ride for the French professional cycling team Cofidis and the American cycling team, Cannondale-Garmin.

He has said that his brand will revolutionise the perspective through which the sport of Cycling is viewed. David Millar retired from being a professional cyclist the year before in the month of September. But it would be wrong to assume that his life has become much slower.
