Froome Agrees For Tour France 2015

Great news for Chris Froome fans- after initial refusal to take part in the upcoming Tour France 2015, the 2013 Tour France champ has finally agreed to take up the challenge once again with full vigor, after Giro & Vuelta Espana next year.

The Team Sky star had to unfortunately withdraw from this year’s Tour France following a severe crash on the 5th stage. Thus, when the Tour France organizers displayed a rigorous mountainous route for next year, Froome had expressed his concerns.

Contador to skip 2015 Vuelta Espana

Riding legend Contador has announced he won’t be taking part in his squad boss’ Triple Grand Tour 1 million Euros incentive as he has planned to race at just Tour France and Giro Italia out of 3 Grand Tours the coming season.

Oleg Tinkoff’s Triple Grand Tour incentive idea seemed almost next to impossible the very moment he forwarded his proposition to Alberto Contador, 2013 Tour France champion Chris Froome from Team Sky, Giro Italia hero Nairo Quintana & the reigning Tour France champion Vincenzo Nibali.

Nibali ruled out Tinkoff’s idea almost immediately while Froome placed a huge question mark regarding his participation in Tour France 2015 the moment the tour route was declared given absence of the time trials. The famous Team Sky rider remarked that he is on for Vuelta Espana and Giro Italia next year but would miss out on Tour France.

Thus, the Triple Grand Tour Challenge is on hold at present, especially after Tinkoff-Saxo’s Vuelta 2014 champion Contador declared to bypass the home race in the coming 2015 campaign, despite participation in French and Italian grand tours. The iconic Spaniard rider stressed that a back-to-back ride from Giro & Tour might limit his caliber while the peloton marches off right from Utrecht next July.

“The plan that I have on paper is to race at Giro & Tour France & I feel that would be quite  tough challenge”, stated Contador while speaking about his next year Grand Tour plans. “I understand that Giro & Tour back-to-back might undermine my very options at the Tour yet Giro Italia is some race which inspires me & such a championship that I like immensely.”

According to experts, if Oleg Tinkoff’s idea is to transform in reality, the overall distance covered in the 3 Grand Tours have to be reduced.

Jelle Wallay Overpowers Thomas Voeckler

Both Thomas and Jelle were at their best at the Paris Tour and made the best of the climb up the Cote De Beau Soleil. They both had kept a very good lead so much that they were the only ones been seen for sometime. When the others caught up in pace with them they still managed a lead of almost 42” and just 4 kilometers left in the race. At that point it was time to consider a win. There was no chance that anybody would be able to catch them and out-pass them.

Thomas has been a part of lot of major events. However, in the Paris Tour he seemed to be helpless. He could not do anything worth doing in the last decisive minutes against Jelle. And after four years Jelle bagged the big title and won the Paris Tour title. The Belgian star out-sprinted Thomas Voeckler who was the last one to stay with him far ahead of all the pack. He has proved how his youth and determination has paid off with the competition against the experience of his French rival Thomas Voeckler.

For Jelle it has been the most proud and prestigious win of his career. Jelle has also admitted that according to him Thomas and he were the strongest in the race. He said that at the end it was like a two-man sprint finish and he waited for the right opportunity to attack and go in the right breakaway. Jelle has said that it was his first time that had experienced a breakaway with Thomas and that he also learned a lot from the same. He said that he knew that there was going to be a winner among either of them. However the fact that Thomas lost the Tour has led to a lot of disappointment for him.

NSO Is Back With Its Annual Cycling Event To Assist Homeless People

Since the year 1955, the NSO (Neighborhood Service Organization) has been providing useful services to the people of Detroit. The main aim of NSO is to ensure that families and neighborhoods are empowered and needy people are strengthened in an efficient way. NSO has created many programs which have attracted a lot of national and international attention.

On the 17th of August, 2014, the NSO is organizing a cycling event called Handlebars for the Homeless which is going to start and end at the Bell Building of NSO which is situated at 882 Oakman Blvd. (Detroit). The ride will start at around 10am and will be wrapped up by around 12pm.

The cyclists taking part in this noble cycling event are going to pass through some of the most excellent neighborhoods of Detroit like University of Detroit-Mercy, Sherwood Forest, Boston Edison and Palmer Park.

According to David Rudolph (organizer and founder of Handlebars for the Homeless), bicyclists are people who can really see the world of reality and understand the needs of the homeless people because car owners just pass by the homeless people without even realizing it.

Rudolph is aware of the fact that Slow Roll is more attractive to people since it is free. But he is sure that people will realize the importance of Handlebars for the Homeless and land up in huge numbers on Sunday in order to be a part of this righteous endeavor.

Those who will ride for this noble cause can be assured of the fact that around twenty thousand homeless people who reside in Detroit are going to receive some help from their contribution.

Riders belonging to varied age groups are welcome to the event and registration fee is just thirty dollars. Refreshments and free Handlebars for the Homeless T-shirts will be provided to each of the participants.
