Jelle Wallay Overpowers Thomas Voeckler

Both Thomas and Jelle were at their best at the Paris Tour and made the best of the climb up the Cote De Beau Soleil. They both had kept a very good lead so much that they were the only ones been seen for sometime. When the others caught up in pace with them they still managed a lead of almost 42” and just 4 kilometers left in the race. At that point it was time to consider a win. There was no chance that anybody would be able to catch them and out-pass them.

Thomas has been a part of lot of major events. However, in the Paris Tour he seemed to be helpless. He could not do anything worth doing in the last decisive minutes against Jelle. And after four years Jelle bagged the big title and won the Paris Tour title. The Belgian star out-sprinted Thomas Voeckler who was the last one to stay with him far ahead of all the pack. He has proved how his youth and determination has paid off with the competition against the experience of his French rival Thomas Voeckler.

For Jelle it has been the most proud and prestigious win of his career. Jelle has also admitted that according to him Thomas and he were the strongest in the race. He said that at the end it was like a two-man sprint finish and he waited for the right opportunity to attack and go in the right breakaway. Jelle has said that it was his first time that had experienced a breakaway with Thomas and that he also learned a lot from the same. He said that he knew that there was going to be a winner among either of them. However the fact that Thomas lost the Tour has led to a lot of disappointment for him.
